Although there is no valid or direct scientific evidence, those who practice it attest to the curative effect. The practice of several Mudras has in fact gained popular attention to many people who are seeking to heal themselves and their souls through deep meditation.

Generally speaking, Mudras are classified into four different types. The first is called Hasta Mudras. It deals with hand postures. Second is Nritya Shastra, or those that involve head and face postures. Third is Bandhas or body locks. Finally, there are the body postures called Yoga Mudras.
